Privacy Officers Africa is a community body for Information Officers, Deputy Information Officers, Data Privacy Officers and Privacy Professionals in Africa.
The organization was founded early in 2021 by a group of Privacy enthusiasts and Information Officers with the view of creating a community
Privacy Officers Africa was established to inform and educate our community about the unique legal, regulatory and practical issues arising from the promulgation of privacy laws across Africa. We provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and in-depth examination of privacy law and compliance issues.

Chair / Director
Ridwaan BodaRidwaan Boda is head of ENSafricas TMT law practise and is also co-head of the data privacy practise. With almost 20 years’ experience in access to information laws and more than 15 years’ experience in data privacy laws, he is one of Africa’s most accomplished privacy lawyers. For the past 7 years he has been a member of the highly acclaimed Data Governance and AI Expert Group (previously Privacy Advisory Group) of the United Nations, and is a global thought leader and expert in the field of data privacy law. Ridwaan also acts as Information Officer of a number of companies. Join Ridwaan and a community of privacy officers in Africa.

Francois KrielFrancois, founder and director of consulting firm Kriel & Co, is an IMCSA-accredited management consultant specialising in digital transformation, change management and data privacy. He also advises clients on the hiring of full-time CIOs and mentoring internally appointed IOs at several high-profile organisations, and fills a dedicated seat on the executive board at many of these client organisations. His extensive knowledge on data privacy (in line with current POPIA regulation) sprouts from having established an inter-operable practice with the Technology, Media and Telecommunications department at top-tier law firm ENSafrica and advising several of the firm’s clients on appropriate change management solutions.

Bianca DafelWith a range of industry-related certification and experience in Cyber Security.Bianca's been invited to speak at various Security Roadshows and events speaking on topics such as trends in Cyber Security and the current concerns organisations are grappling with. Her primary focus is being a valuable resource to clients and her network.

Imraan KharwaImraan is a Privacy and Information Security professional with years of proven experience in financial, consulting and retail environments. He has worked with organisations of all sizes in creating their strategic vision, crafting bespoke solutions and has successfully deployed dozens of data privacy and information security projects in various sectors. Imraan has an LLB degree from the University of Kwazulu-Natal and is a Certified Information Privacy Manager with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Okeletsang MooleketsiOkeletsang is an Information Officer and has joined the community of Information Officers who assist with data privacy compliance. She is an admitted attorney who has experience in various business sectors. Okeletsang has been exposed to the telecommunications, technology and petroleum products sectors. She obtained a law degree together with a qualification in mediation and arbitration.
